My analysis

For our preliminary task me and my partner made a short film on interrigation. The sequence lasted 49 seconds For the task we were asked to film someone walking into a room, sitting down and having a conversation. I feel that our film has met the brief although we decided to make it a bit more dramatic.

The Mise-en-scene in our film could definately do with some improving. 11 seconds into the film you can see the recycling bin at Michael's feet. In my opinion I think that this kills the mood. In another shot you can see our bags on the table and some of the camera equipment 31 seconds in. Although there are some flaws in our film I also think that there are some good aspects to it for example we put two tables together to represent an interigation table, and the distance between the characters is also good.

The cinematography that we have included in our film could also be improved a lot for example where I have filmed the first over the shoulder shot, the framing is bad because the back of Michaels head is cut out this was because i lined up the frame before Michael had sat down. Also nearer the beginning when I ame doing a tilt shot there is a jump and the camera isn't that steady. However I have stuck to the 180 degree and 30 degree rule.

I feel that the editing in our sequence is quite good but the continuity could do with some improving. Also, when michael shouts "proud of what you've done are you?" there is a slight pause for around two seconds. Other than that i think that the editing in our film is okay.

The sound in our film is quite bad as at the end of man as you can hear us laughing as the end of some of the shots. The continuity in our sound is fairly good but i think that this is because there is only diagetic sound in it

My partner and I didnt include any titles as we felt that it wouldn't be necassary at the time, however looking back now i think that we should have added some as it would have given the film a discriptive element during the slugs.

Overall I think that there are a lot of things we could do to improve in our film but the main sections i think would be the titles, the steadiness of the camera and the Mise-en-scene. However for our first proper media task I feel that we have done quite well.
